A group of school children visit Mathaf as part of the Years of Culture programme

Adult and Family Programmes

Our participatory creative workshops and talks provide the tools to appreciate even the most sophisticated works of art. Our family programmes encourage young children to explore art with their families, through fun and age-appropriate activities in the museum.

Artists Encounters Series

This series invites artists to discuss concepts and lead workshops based on their artistic and creative processes.

Creative Conversation for Artists

Creative Conversation for Artists provides the space for communication and networking among artists in Qatar, from different age groups and experiences, to showcase their work and latest projects in the community. It aims to bring artists together to participate and talk about their careers and practices in the art field.

Through individual presentations, artists have the chance to connect and discuss their development, sources of inspiration and the difficulties and challenges they face as artists.

Storytime at Mathaf

Storytime at Mathaf is our monthly activity for children 4–9 years old and their families. Enjoy bilingual stories in English and Arabic and explore the connections between art and storytelling by visiting Mathaf’s galleries, reading together and taking part in hands-on learning activities.

Guided Family Visit

A guided tour in Mathaf for families and children from the age of 5+. During the tour, the specialist will explain about the museum and introduce the children to modern art. They will notice the shapes, colours, and the lines, and engage in a drawing exercise, to cement what they saw and learnt at Mathaf. The duration of the tour is one hour.
